How Remot works
Remot is built for hiring that actually works — real profiles, AI fit scoring, escrow-protected payments, and standards enforced on every job, message, and review.
Standards on every plan
Clean job posts
Public jobs pass automated publishing rules, with reporting and human review available when something needs investigation.
- Job descriptions must be at least 120 characters so candidates can understand the role before applying.
- Every job shows compensation. Hourly and monthly roles must meet the published floor for their experience level; project budgets are labeled separately.
- Company profiles must include a real description and country before the employer can publish.
- Duplicate job titles from the same company within 24 hours are blocked.
- Moderation checks keep job content focused on the role, not on off-platform redirects.
Sustainable pace
Rate limits reduce automated flooding and repeated actions while preserving normal hiring activity.
- Applications: up to 15 per hour per talent.
- Messages: up to 30 per 10 minutes per sender.
- Job posts: up to 5 per hour per company, 10 per hour per owner across their companies.
- Company creation: up to 3 per hour per owner.
- Duplicate cover letters from the same applicant within 24 hours are consolidated.
- Pay on a posted role cannot be lowered after applicants have committed.
Reviews you can trust
Reviews on Remot only come from hires that actually happened and actually paid.
- Reviews require a signed contract and at least one released milestone before they can be posted.
- Star ratings are immutable once submitted.
- Review text is editable for 24 hours, then locked — no silent rewrites after someone hires based on your feedback.
- Reviewer identity is verified to the application — reviewers can only review parties they actually worked with.
- Review text meets the same content standards as job posts and messages.
Payment options — Remot Pay recommended
Remot Pay is recommended after shortlist or hire so Filipino freelancers are not left unpaid. Direct Pay remains available at 0% platform fee with higher non-payment risk.
- Remot Pay escrow (recommended): employer funds the milestone up front, Remot holds it, released on approval — talent keeps 100%, employer pays 5%.
- Direct Pay: settle outside Remot at 0% platform fee when you already trust each other; Remot cannot enforce payout.
- Unpaid trials are not a hiring path: trials and test tasks should be short and paid — free production work is flagged.
- Milestone gates: talent cannot force release; employer cannot withhold indefinitely — auto-release protects both sides.
- Dispute flow with evidence uploads available on every escrow milestone, reviewed by admins.
- Applications target only active, approved jobs — no bypass attempts against unpublished listings.
Real profiles
Profiles on Remot have enough information for employers to make a decision.
- Talent profiles must include a name, headline or bio, and at least one skill before applying.
- Talent signup requires a Filipino eligibility declaration, including Filipinos and OFWs working abroad.
- Cover letters (when provided) meet a minimum length so hiring signals aren’t lost in one-liner copy-paste.
- Profile completeness tier is visible to employers and earns talent daily bonus points.
Human review
Automation handles the obvious; humans handle the edge cases.
- Admin moderation queues surface new company posts, repeat-rejection owners, and activity-heavy accounts for proactive review.
- Evidence-backed reports: users can attach up to 5 URLs (screenshots, cached pages) to a moderation report.
- Urgent reports target initial admin triage within 24 hours.
- Clear status on every report: timestamp, moderator notes, and resolution visible in Support.
Transparency when things change
You should never be left guessing why a job or application changed state.
- Job admin-rejected → employer and all applicants receive a notification with a link to the policy that triggered it.
- Message content banners surface when a conversation contains patterns that break our standards, with a one-click report button.
- Applicants can track every report they submit from their Support tab.
Employer trust levels
Every employer is assigned a trust tier based on paid hiring plan, company profile strength, payment history, and platform behavior. Talent sees this before applying so they can pick the right opportunities with confidence.

SupportPrivacy-first by design
Remot keeps only what's needed to run your hiring flow. No government ID uploads. Banking details stay with Stripe. Disputes use the same process on both sides.
Direct Pay is 0% — you and the employer settle outside Remot. Remot Pay escrow charges a 5% employer fee — funds are held until the milestone is approved. Talent keeps 100% on both paths.
